Bottom Bracket Removal

Bottom Bracket Removal

Removing your old press fit bottom bracket correctly is just as important as installing the new one correctly. We produce a range of removal tools to enable you to do this effectively, so please take the time to understand the options available to you.

Classic Removal Tool

Pro Removal Tool

Our Classic removal tool uses a simple but effective method.  Holding the stem, you pass it through the bearing, holding it diagonally, then straighten it and pull it back outwards, so that is sits squarely against the inside of the bottom bracket/bearing.  Then, using a suitable drift such as a screwdriver, pass this through from the opposite side so that it is securely in the indent on the back of the tool.  Now, simply tap the drift with a hammer to push the bottom bracket out.  It may help to rotate the tool slightly in between each strike.

Available sizes:

24mm for BB90/BB95 and BB86/BB92, including all Shimano pressfit

29mm for all variants of SRAM DUB pressfit

30mm for BB30/BB30A, PF30, 386EVO, BBright

Our Pro removal tool uses a more gentle method.  An extraction plate is passed into the BB in the same way as the Classic tool, but instead of using a hammer, you turn the handle to gently pull the bearing out, into the aluminium cup.

You can purchase the Pro removal tool without the double handle nut, instead you get a simple 13mm hex nut which will require just a regular spanner.

Available sizes:

24mm for BB90/BB95 only

30mm for BB30/BB30A, BBright Direct fit only
